The artist hand paints and lacquers each pin. Gold-leaf is applied in some cases. All artists make their own brushes from squirrel hair and often paint their detailed designs with the aid of a magnifying glass.
Finally the artist signs the pin. Although different pins may share the same theme, every broach is individual in its execution.
Black lacquered pins are created in the same manner as lacquered boxes. Mother-of-pearl Brooches are encased in beautiful German Silver.
