This museum quality sailing ship was made from mammoth tusks found in Siberia, Russia near the city of Magadan whose carver took over six months to complete the superb detailing including the one piece ship hull. Four kilograms of tusks were used to carve the ship; the finished weight is 0.93 Kg measuring 15 inches high by 14 inches long by 2.5 inches wide. The original two mast ship complete with fifteen sails was designed in 1975 by Yuri Gusyev and presented as a gift to Leonid Brezhnev. The ship comes with a custom designed glass wooden case and the original Russian documents that were required to get it out of Russia and into the U.S., all stamped and signed by governmental officials.
